How We Started Our Family Restaurant
La Sorrentina is a family owned and operated Italian restaurant established in 2011. Juan “Pepe” Rangel is the Chef and proud owner of this hidden gem in the west side of San Antonio. Pepe has over 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry and specialty in Italian Cuisine. Pepe was born and raised in Michoacan, Mexico and moved to Chicago, Illinois. In Chicago, he found his passion for cooking. He moved to San Antonio and worked as a sous chef in Naples Italian Restaurant on Broadway. Over the past 35 years, he had the opportunity to assist in opening well known Italian restaurants in San Antonio as the head chef. After all his years of experience and dedication, Pepe decided to open La Sorrentina Italian Restaurant. He takes great pride in providing the best quality of food to our customers. The Rangel family is happy to service the San Antonio community.
